Browser Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
This policy covers the BEsERP browser extension. The website at beserp.com is covered separately by our main Privacy Policy.
1. The short version
The extension collects nothing, transmits nothing, and stores nothing. It reads the page you are currently viewing, analyses it on your own device, shows you the result, and forgets it when you close the popup.
2. What data we collect
None. We do not collect, receive, store, transmit or sell any data from users of the extension. Specifically, we do not collect:
- personally identifiable information, including names or email addresses;
- health, financial, authentication or location information;
- personal communications;
- browsing history, or the addresses of pages you visit;
- the content of pages you analyse;
- usage analytics, telemetry, crash reports or installation identifiers.
The extension contains no analytics, no tracking pixel and no remote logging. It has no account system and never asks you to sign in.
3. How the analysis works
When you press the button, the extension reads the page in the active tab — its title, headings, links, images, meta tags and structured data — and evaluates them against a set of on-page SEO rules. All of that happens inside your browser, in memory, using code shipped with the extension. No part of the page is uploaded.
One network request is made, and it is made by your browser to the page you are already on: the extension re-requests the current URL to read the HTML as it was delivered, before JavaScript modified it. This is how it determines whether AI crawlers, which generally do not execute JavaScript, can read the page. The request goes to the website you are visiting and to nobody else. We never see it.
4. Permissions, and why each is needed
- activeTab — grants access to the single tab you are looking at, only at the moment you click the extension, and only until you navigate away. This is what lets the extension read the page you asked it to check.
- scripting — allows the analysis script to be placed into that tab when you press the button. The script is injected on demand and does not persist.
The extension deliberately does not request host permissions and does not register content scripts. It therefore cannot read sites you have not explicitly asked it to analyse, and Chrome will not warn you that it can read your data on all websites, because it cannot.
5. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties. We hold no user data from the extension to sell or transfer. The extension is not used for any purpose unrelated to its single purpose of analysing the page you are viewing, and is not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
6. Children
The extension is a professional tool and is not directed at children. As it collects no data, it collects no data from children.
7. Changes to this policy
If a future version of the extension ever collects or transmits data, this policy will be updated before that version is published, and the change will be described in the extension's store listing. The version this policy describes sends nothing.
